Nordic Ski Race Minnewaska State Park '18The warm temps on Saturday made the snow a bit sticky but all in all it was a great day to cross-country ski for the 47 racers who came out to Minnewaska Lake State Park. With ages ranging from 5 to 70 skiers had the choice of a 2.4 mile loop around the lake or two loops totaling 4.8 miles.

Some skied on traditional Nordic skis and some skate skied, an awkward looking but vastly more effective alternative on groomed trails. The, now annual, race is hosted by the Shawangunk Nordic Ski Association(SNSA) which works to promote cross-country skiing locally in the Gunks.
