Kids' Races Video
|
Belleayre is the fifth of six races in the New York State Mountain Bike Series- Chain Stretcher, Williams Lake Classic, SOS Mtn Bike Challenge, Windham Mountain PROXCT, and the Riedlbauer’s Round Top Rally
In its eleventh year the 5.8-mile loop is probably the most technical course in the series with its gnarly roots and rocks- oh and the elevation. |
Temps were moderate at the 10 am start for the 80 some Cat 2, and 3 riders. By 1pm when the 40ish Pro andCat1 riders the mercury had risen along with the humidity.
The Pro Series points are looking like this so far- Pro Open Men: Ben Williams 219, Frank O'Reilly 201, Nicholas Glasser 180. Pro Open Women: Kimberly Milton 240, Christine Guarino 207. The Cat3 Jr men 12-18 field is a large one. Wyatt Roberts, Co-owner of Overlook Mountain Bikes, is running a youth mountain bike club out of the shop. The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA)with the New York High School Cycling League, started in 2012, are working to get high school students out on bikes. MTB series. |

There is some completion in the field too.
